No matter how much you may love your job, we all like to have some time off
where we can go and enjoy what our cities have to offer in the way of entertainment.
It's great to get away from that strapping machine and take off camping
or fishing for the weekend. The city of Santa Clarita has a lot of things to
do for those looking for a bit of entertainment, running the full gamut of options.
Let's take a look at a few of the highlights.
For the Family
One of the most noteworthy attractions in the Santa Clarita area has to be
the Six Flags Magic Mountain Amusement park, located in the community of Valencia.
For the last 38 years, the park has been a magnet for families from all over
Los Angeles County out looking for entertainment. The key attractions of the
park are its roller coasters; there are several dozen of them in operation.
For those who are taking the grandparents out of home health services
for the day, roller coasters might not hold that much appeal. Fortunately, Magic
Mountain has a plethora of other amusement options, including a few state of
the art water parks, a museum, and an area with a children's theme.
All the rides and attractions at the park are thoroughly monitored and safe,
with the use of the latest monitoring equipment and the finest temperature calibrator
available.
The Great Outdoors
With a position at the heart of the Santa Clarita Valley, the city also offers
residents a gateway into the wonderful outdoors that only California has to
offer. The area includes lakes, such as Lake Piru and Castaic Lake. Once threatened
by pollution, government regulations requiring manufacturers and farmers to
use a specific effluent treatment chemicals and stringent process have meant
that the lakes are safe once again. Today, thousands flock to these areas over
summer weekends looking to fish, swim, and camp.
The valley lies between two sets of mountain ranges, which include the Los
Padres national forest. This forest is perfect for the nature fan or photographer,
as it is the home of several very rare species. These include the peregrine
falcon and the California condor. Thanks to the efforts of American based science
teams as well as foreign workers, Canada-trained, these species have regained
a foothold on survival in the Los Padres.
The mountains also offer an ideal place to go for those who enjoy hiking, hang
gliding, camping, and all manner of other outdoor pursuits.
From manmade amusements for the whole family to recreational opportunities
offered by the unique California ecosystem, there is truly something for everyone
looking for entertainment in Santa Clarita!
